My boyfriend and I ate at plump dumpling last night after we saw that Mee noodle was boarded up (as well as its entire building, it's collapsing) - and still needed some very cheap dinner. I was really happy with the roast chicken curry noodle soup ($5.95), which had great chili and coconut milk flavor in it. We tried the sampler of all the different dumplings (chicken, meat, shrimp, veg, 2 each for $4.95), but the veggie one was the only one that really impressed me. You could see the mushroom, onion, etc. inside: very fresh. Most of the folks that wandered in last night were talking about Mee being closed, and the owner said he worked there a while ago. Fortunately, his food had lots more flavor and the place is sooo much cleaner. They may lack the pork with pickled cabbage soup, but they do have the same water glasses as Mee. The place is TINY TINY, so perhaps takeout is best. The entire staff was super nice. To sum it up, the owner seems to cook with a bit of southeast asian influence, which we both thought was great, and it was a great $11 supper.
