Thu Apr 28 16:13:47 -0700 2005 1180192 0 vito 1 1180315 i disagree with the posts on 151--though it is generally not over-packed, the music is usually waaaay to loud and abrasive (think dark, harsh metal) to have an enjoyable time for long. it's not too bad toward the end of a night when you're good and hammered, though. i like th magician for a chilled-out vibe down there and though it can get crowded, i have had good luck with their jukebox and table availability. the magician is on rivington, east of ludlow, no sign on door. The new Kush (located on Chrystie b/w Stanton and Rivington) is a lot bigger than the original. Still an international crowd and music to match and more tabletops for hookahs. Definitely a lounge to frequent... It is almost all local (its a coffee shop during the day) and has DJs on the weekend. It can get a bit crowded (and hot), so go before 11 or so.
