I have walked by a few times and it is busy after work. I am also interested to hear about the food and if there is a happy hour.

Someone on here suggested The Black Duck a few weeks back. Apparently it has great food, but we were only there for the happy hour cocktails, which were very good. It is at 28th Street between Park Ave South and Lexington (closer to the latter).

Last night we did actually go to PS 450. It was crowded, but not overly so. You can eat at the small cocktail tables in the front bar room, or last night we opted to go to the back room to eat which is set up more like a lounge then a restaurant, with low tables and couch banquettes and leather cubes to sit on.The service was very good, great waitress and attentive. The food was upscale bar food with some intersting options, the menu is on menupages. I had a seared tuna salad, nothing special but good and the tuna was very high quality. In terms of drinks there are specialty cocktails and a few wines by the glass, did not notice any happy hour specials but i could be wrong. I would be interested to try some of the other food. Not a destination spot but great for that area. Will have try Black Duck next time... thanks for the rec.

Thanks for the report; very good to know. We live close by so we will have to try it out.

I have checked out the menu on menupages and am tempted to go try the duck confit taquitos.

Report back on the food at The Black Duck if you try it. As I said before, I can only vouch for the cocktails.
