meson sevilla

i've looked at the reviews and menu on menupages.com. it sounds great; just wondering if the experts here have any opinions and recommendations. my husband and i love el faro and plan to eat there during our week in the city in may. how does meson sevilla compare to el faro?

IMHO, the paella from Zabar's deli counter is very good. take it home and warm it up, or eat it cold!

Meson Sevilla was was suggested for our group of 7 for drinks and apps tonight before a show. Does anyone have recent experiences there?

Let us know how it is if you try it: i went to El Faro four years ago and was underwhelmed though...i've yet to find any paella in NYC that i like, and i thought the El Faro green sauce dish was bland...

If this is the same place that I just know as Sevilla, it's a fine comparison to El Faro (& Cafe Espanol & El Quixote & a couple of others). We generally go there more than the others. The place itself is a less frenetic place than the others (it's still bustling, compared to most), the room is darker and more richly decorated and the food's good. There's a place on either W 14th or W 23rd that others seem to think is the best of the bunch (associated with the Spanish club?) but I've never been. Have a great time.
