Sort of a weird one here...the girlfriend and i want to go out tonight despite the impending minor snowstorm.

She's a vegetarian but eats seafood. i eat everything but prefer the dead carcass variety.

We were thinking either Home on Cornelia Street or Candle in the UES. We've never been to either place, want something romantic with great food.

Can anyone comment on either restaurant?

Candle 79 (NOT Candle Cafe on 3rd Avenue) has a nice romantic atmosphere, with the bonus of your girlfriend being able to eat anything on the menu.

Never been to Home, but went to Candle with my carnivore sister a while ago. She didn't like it too much, I thought it was good. However, I like Josie's on Amsterdam close to 73rd or 74th, much better. Organic food, not only vegetarian, but with many veg options. Really delicious.

I second the rec. for Home. Be sure to try their homemade ketchup and have a reservation because that place is tiny.
