Fresh eel?

I'm wondering if anyone knows a fish market where fresh eel, preferably live river eel, is available? I've seen tanks at Tan My My on Grand St labeled "Eel" when they were filled with bass, but never actually seen eel for sale. Specific locations only please, i.e. not "check out Chinatown".

I've gotta replicate the Belgian paling in 't groen now that winter is here.

    1. have you tried Citarella?

        1. The large market on Main st in Flushing always has fresh eel.

            1. This is not a definite lead, but you can try Dynasty Supermarket in Chinatown. Though I can't recall seeing eels in particular, they have a good number of tanks with live fish.

Worth a shot to check out if you are in the hood.
