I recently tried the pizza here, and thought it was fabulous. I only remember there being 4 or 5 pizza's on the menu, and we ordered one with sliced cherry tomatoes. The crust was just how I like it, not to soggy, charred around the edges, and thin. What really blew me away was the drizzled olive oil and a sprinkling of sea salt, such a nice finishing touch.

I'm normally a Patsy's girl, but this is my new favorite.
Has anyone else tried this place out? I'm curious to see what other chowish folks think.

an extremely tasty pie, REALLY enjoyed it... unfortunately I personally can not justify the cost for what you get. Spending $10 for what amounts to 2 average size slices isn't in the cards for me.

Ditto for all accolades. But must agree with you on price. The first time my husband and I went, we split one. Absolutely not enough to eat. Looking around, we noticed that everyone else had ordered a single pie for themselves. Next time we did the same. 34 bucks!(Each pie is 16.95; there weren't any for $10) But nothing as good anywhere else in Manhattan. BTW, you can BYO wine or beer; they'll give you a plastic cup to drink from. Next time we might bring our own glasses; I don't know if they'd find that insulting though.

Maybe if you bring your own glasses they'll get the hint to buy some of there own.

I think its awfully tacky to make customers feel the need to bring glasses to a meal that there providing. What next? Bringing your own plates!

My husband I just went here based on the Chowhound referrals and a recent article on a pizza blog citing this as one of the best places for pizza in NYC. While the pizza was very good, the prices were very ridiculous. Each pizza is appropriate to serve one person, but it costs $16.95. We purchased two pizzas and two glasses of wine ($7 ea) and ended up paying more than $60 for our dinner with tip. All this yet they served our tap water in small plastic cups. Huh.

It was cool to watch the guy smoke the pizza using wood chips, the wine was good and the service was good (cups notwithstanding). We enjoyed our experience but we won't be back for more of this extremely expensive pizza. I'm suprised this blog was so silent on the super high price tag on this 'za.
