Hullo. I have done my search - don't find anything recent. I have a friend going to Manhattan (we are in SF) for one night and he thinks he wants to eat the burger with foie gras at DB Moderne. Is he right? He loves meat - the type who sucks the marrow out of the lamb shanks.

Thanks a million from California.

It's a good burger. But not worth the money - unless you want to try the foie burger out of curiosity - it is quite good.

That being said, I like the restaurant in general. Good food. Haven't been in some months - but I will go back when I"m in that neighborhood.

It's a good burger, but as Nina mentioned, it isn't worth the money. It IS quite impressive when it lands in front of you, but I think you're paying for the show more than you are the flavor. It does contain expensive ingredients, but I've had it twice, and it seems to be hit or miss regarding how much of those expensive ingredients are actually detectable.

If you have money to... well, burn... it certainly is a fun thing to do. However, more for the entertainment of being able to say you've done it, more than the satisfaction of the burger itself.

The burger is great - especially in a town distinctly lacking burgers along with barbecue - as is almost everything I've had there. The accompanying fries are perfection.

The restaurant itself is somewhat subdued for Manhattan, I suspect because of the great number of French who eat there. For that reason, it may not appeal to those who prefer din and cacophony with their meal.

NYC is not a good burger town? what? and the burger you cite as being great is the overly rich overly priced gimmick...if you want a good gimmick burger get the kobe beef one at old homestead, its ok i guess, but if you want just a good burger go to corner bistro, burger joint, molly's, lugers, mellon's and probably about 20 more that i didn't mention....by your rational its also probably not not a good steak town either
