Recently had visited with two other couples and was escorted straight upstairs. Not a good sign when they take you upstairs to the remote dining room. The service was lacking because the kitchen "was downstairs".It appears my friend who had made the reservation did not specify the main room. This is where all the action was.Anyway,I found that the apps were overpriced and nothing special(18$ small Calamri 20$ Pizzeria Margarita). The entree's were tasty but very small portions. Our table was done with our main course in minutes and still hungry. It appears we payed more simply because a few News celeb's were on hand.
I don't mind spending the money but it's insulting when you bring such small portions in an Italian Restaurant. Anyone else?

This has always been an overpriced, underwhelming restaurant favored mostly by the business crowd for lunch. I must admit, I've never found the portions small though... maybe because I fill up on the bread.

I had lunch there with a netork exec recently (and Rudy Giuliani at the next table) and was astonished at the prices. $33-$37 lunch entrees!!! And my fish special was overcooked, though someone else had a scallop salad that was awesome.

The funny thing it that Scotto's other restaurant, Scopa at 28th and Madison, has really amazing takeout and the best paninni sandwich I've ever eaten, here or in Italy.

Another poster summed my experience up perfectly...overpriced and underwhelming. I had the added "pleasure" of having a server stand right next to me the whole time we were eating so he could provide service to another table. Never again.
