It's sick and wrong to be charged $60+ and still be looking longingly at pizza slices on the way home, because your dinner was so miniscule. These guys (the creators) have come up with another precious venue which is deafeningly loud, where one can't really get a full meal without ordering a few different dishes in unison. Also the people patronising it all deserved a good punch in the chops. Self-entitled, irritating clientele, and that is being diplomatic. It is so unauthentic. Just give me an entree that actually makes me feel I've had a meal versus a "tide me over" snack.Since all their restaurants start with "B", the owners' next eaterie should be called
Bulimia, 'cause that's what their fare seems to proselytize.

This reminds me of when "nouvelle cuisine" arrived from France with dishes that featured three string beans tied with a "string" made from a cooked red pepper. Food critic Gael Greene dubbed it the "tortured tid-bit" school of cooking. Looks like it's come 'round again with the current mania for tasting menus. Stock up on the Haggen-Dasz in your freezers folks for those inevitable 11 o'clock munchies that kick in after a dinner of teeny-tiny wee thingies. :)

I also see the tapas influence, as in "order a few starters and a few entrees and perhaps your hunger will be abated".I have to face that I am hopelessly archaic as to my thinking about food. I want an entree to include a starch and a vegetable. I want, in short, a square meal.A few nights ago I went to the Tavern On Jane. Fresh draught Stella and more substantial portions. So much more fun than the precious crowd at Bivio, but I recognize that every venue has its merits and are perceived subjectively according to what a diner's in the mood for that night.

thank god somebody else thinks that place is the worst restaurant in NY. although my waitress was nice, the food was lame and the atmosphere was like eating in a train station.
