I've eaten a couple of times over the years at Le Rivage. The last time was at lunch two years ago. The food, while not setting off any sparks, is decently prepared. I haven't eaten there often or recently enough to suggest any "favorites."
The dinner prix-fixe is a good deal considering that, in addition to appetizer, main course & dessert, it includes a house salad and coffee. It's the only place that I can think of off hand where coffee is included in the prix-fixe price.
Service is efficient, and I would describe the decor as "old-style" bistro.
If I were going to a French bistro in the Theater District, Le Rivage would not be my first choice. I prefer Rene Pujol. But it is far from the worst choice in that area. Based on an awful experience we had several years ago, that "honor" goes to Chez Suzette.
Enjoy the show and Bon Appetit!

I have been to Rene Pujol and highly recommend it. Excellent food, atmosphere and service. The prix fixe menu is truly a bargain.
