My husband and I have arranged a date night tonight. We are leaving the baby with my sister and get to go out as two grownups! (How excited am I!?) I'm looking for a place that won't break our piggybank that is romantic and has a bar. Location isn't really important but don't bother suggesting anything with outdoor dining as my husband refuses to eat outside.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

Breaking the bank would be anything over $200 for the two of us for the entire meal. Something along the price range of City Crab.
He loves seafood and steak, doesn't like Indian, can live the rest of his life without pasta but likes some Italian food. Loves Spanish Food...
As I said in a seperate post, I would love something with a view of the city if that's possible...

You could give Casa Mono a whirl. It is a spanish "tapas" place. I put it in quotes becuase it isnt really a typical tapas bar. It is a mario batali joint and he has a wide range of interesting plates. Check it out on menupages. It shouldnt break the bank either and the wine list is respectable.
As for a view... well cant help you there

But the tables are really close together...hard to be romantic at Casa Mono.

What about Fleur de Sel? Wonderful food, charming room, French, you can manage within your budget, lovely service...

I second the Harrison. And if it's a view you're looking for, why not start the evening with a cocktail at the 14th floor Rise Bar in the Ritz Carlton at Battery Park. Great views of the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson. From there, it's a lovely 10-15 minute walk up the promenade and over to the Harrison.
