Has anyone been to this festival before? Apparently they bring crayfish up from Louisiana, as well as music and lots of food. Wondering if anyone has ever been and how it (and the food especially!) was. Thanks!

yup...but it was many years (6 or 7) ago. The music is great...Dr. John, some of the Neville bros and host of other New Orleans zydeco/blues bands played.

From what i remember though (and my memory is quite foggy from that day!), i was bit disappointed with the food. the cajun specialties were blah and everything was, naturally, festival priced. I had the boiled crawfish, alligator sausage and etouffe. nothing stuck out in my mind, except sitting with a beer and a HUGE take-out container of crawfish and watching aging hippies dance, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Overall, i don't think i had an overwhelming urge to return. But i was actually thinking about it after seeing a commercial on TV last week! If it's a nice day out, certainly not a bad choice to listen to fantastic music, drink beer and eat. Just bring lots of money!! If you go, I'd love to hear how it went....

Sorry i'm late but i just wanted to add my two cents.
We've to the festival and couple of times and never really found it worth the money.
Admission was always very expensive and the food was never good. music was good and a nice day out but overall a let down
