<content>anyone know what happened to the pastry chef at chez spencer?

we had an AMAZING meal there -- grilled white asparagus, foie gras over roasted plums, lobster bisque, mushroom risotto, steak over morel mushrooms -- but dessert was disappointing.

we ordered 'strawberry tart' with creme fraiche, but what we got wasn't really a tart. it was more like stewed strawberries spooned over a wafer, with a dollop of creme fraiche on the side.

the strawberries were perfectly flavorful, and creme fraiche was creamy and fresh, but the wafer was crunchy and dry and just was not up to par.

my friend, who plays piano at chez spencer every thursday night, had told me that the pastry chef (lisa stowell?) was a goddess whose feet he would feel privileged to kiss. but, he said, she had a fiery temper, and had quit two nights before.

anyone know where she went?
