Passover dinner suggestions?
Having my parents come down for a traditional yet not traditional Passover dinner, for a few Jewish-ish folks. Looking for something with more Eastern European roots and less strict Kosher ... NOT considering anything like Prime Grill or its equivalents.
More brisket & kasha ... those of you out there know what I mean.

I would think that a place like Odessa (Ave A) will do a good Passover-type meal. It isn't fancy, but the food's good and it's inexpensive.
I would also recommend 2nd Avenue Deli. I'm in the minority in thinking that it's too expensive and the food's not that great, but you can be sure they'll have brisket and kasha (thanks for making me crave kasha, now!).
There are also a number of fine dining establishments that have Passover food for the 8 days. NY Magazine usually has a blurb about them in the Restaurant section. In past years, I think that Park Avenue Cafe and similar had a special menu.

I would definiterly second Odessa. Theresa's might be even better, given their "new" look. I doubt that 2nd Avenue Deli will be open for the first two nights/days however, if that is what the poster has in mind..

Thanks, I think Odessa is the closest I'm gonna get.

Not a recommendation, but a memory - years ago my husband's family celebrated Passover at a restaurant called Triplets - I don't even know if it's around anymore, it was on Sixth and Broome - and in between courses the wait staff performed selections from "Fiddler on the Roof"! The funniest part was the women waiters dropping their trays, covering their heads with shawls, singing their parts and then grabbing their trays again....and then they served egg cremes with U-bet and pretzels!
An unforgettable "seder"!
