I'm visiting from Seattle (yes, a full restaurant report will follow my visit) and am looking for some imported or even really good local chocolates to take back to my partner as a gift. We love Neuhaus, but they have a store in Seattle so that wouldn't be all that special of a gift. Any other recommends?

Thanks,
Sean

Thanks for the recommendation! It's actually on the same block as my hotel, 60 Thompson.

I did a search and came up with a review on chocophile.com

Her chocolates are really truly wonderful and unusual--enjoy!
While in the area be sure to also enjoy a snack of sullivan st bakery pizza and/or yogurt from the place next door.

Have to disagree -- her chcocolates are beautiful but much less tasty than Chocolate Garden's. But MarieBelle's hot chocolate is not to be missed!

Try Vosges, 132 Spring betw. Wooster and Greene. Unusual little truffles with ingredients like curry powder, ginger and fennel. They have a few boutiques around the country but none in Seattle as far as I know.
