Had a very enjoyable dinner at Millennium Sat night. For those who don't know, it's an upscalish vegan place. Intrestingly, it is inside a Howard
Johnson motel, with which it shares a lobby, which makes for very interesting, and unexpected, people watching while waiting for a table.

There are two dining rooms - the front looking quite nice, with only a handful of tables. The back room, where we sat, was not terribly attractive.

The food ranged from good to excellent. As I am a hardcore carnivore, I think the key to veggie restaurants is to avoid the items whish "should" have animal products in them. I did so, ordering the raw plate appetizer (called "Oyster Mushrooms on the Half Shell"). This was basically a salad, with Belgian endive, avocado, oyster mushrooms and sea vegetables, all in a horseradish-dill-cashew crème. Truly an excellent dish. For an entree, I had the "Beggar's purse, with polenta, truffled white bean & roasted corn ragout wrapped in phyllo. This was very good. My girlfriend had less luck with her Grilled Rosemay Polenta appetizer and Morel & Porcini Stroganoff which sufferered noticeable from the lack of egg in the noodles, but both dishes were certainly tasty.

The waitstaff could not have been more pleasant and made helped to make it an overall very pleasant experience. We will likely go back.

We have been going to Millennium for several years and there is no restaurant like this. They can transform vegetarian dishes into works of art and very satisfying to a non-vegetarian. The array of ingredients can be exotic but the combination of complex unique flavors is incredible. I rarely get excited about a restaurant but it has no equals in its niche. I enthusiastially give it 5 stars and recommend it without reservation.

I highly recommend Millenium as well. I'm not a vegan or a vegitarian and it didn't matter, every one of my taste buds was sated! :-)

As was said already, the service and the ambience are terrific. Go!
