Extravagant Private Rooms

Looking for a private dinning room in an awesome restaurant.. I have heard things like private rooms in kitchens. Can someone help me out, it is for an important customer and his family.

Thank you,

Daniel

  1. One CPS in the Plaza hotel has a lovely private dining room seating 8-12. Also Capitale has private rooms in old bank walts.

    1. 21 Club has a private wine cellar room. Never been down there but looks nice online.

      1. There was some question like this a while ago, and I posted info about the Park Ave. Cafe, which has a special glassed in room in the midst of their kithen. Don't know how long you must reserve it in advance. I was there with a group of about 12 or 13 for lunch several years ago, and it was really an experience. One of the pastry chefs came to talk to us, and maybe someone else put in an appearance. You can see some of the activity in the kitchen going on around you.

In a different category, but also fun, Congee Village has fancily deocrated rooms downstairs, each with a tv (for karaoke, I guess). Each room can hold about ten or so, and there is a range of ornateness. Don't know about the cost, and I'm don't know about cost for the Park Ave. Cafe, since I didn't make the arrangements.

        1. Thank you,

Those ideas are a huge help.

          1. Don't know the size of these private dining rooms (and have never visited them), but Le Bernardin and Union Pacific apparently have private areas (although not as part of a kitchen table).

If you want to go all out (price-wise, not necessarily cuisine-wise), Ducasse has a small dining room with an automatic door in a small room adjacent to the kitchen. The restaurant refers to it as the kitchen table, but it's not really "in" the kitchen itself. This would be an expensive endeavor, for a meaningful number of people.

            1. Vine Restaurant downtown has an amazing room INSIDE an old Vault that is utilized for private events.

              1. Gramercy Tavern has a lovely private room. Seats about 20 at one table.

                1. Lever House is an unusually beautiful room, with a pod like private room overlooking the main dining room. It's worth a look..

                  1. I must second the '21' idea. It is a great spot!
