Shot in the dark.

Within the last year I read a Chowhound post about a legendary Chinatown character. There was a link to a great article on the guy. My memory works in funny ways (anyone remember the B Minus Time Traveller on The Ben Stiller show?). Here is what I recall; He lived in Chinatown for roughly 30 years, was a tall guy, was a collector of some kind, loved asian women and was incredibly knowledgeable about Chinatown and the dining scene. For years, he kept a dining journal, which I read some of on-line. I think his name started with an "H"

Can anyone help me?

No idea. But there is a kindred spirit: some artist who is trying to collect every Chinese takeout menu in existence.

Yes to the best of my knowledge he's still around. He's responded to my posts in the recent past too. I assume he lurks around here somewhere.

A friend of mine is working on a Food Network show.
It will incorporate small vignettes from Ny eateries.
So far, Chinatown is not on the list. If that changes, I suggested Harley as "the man". He seems like some character.

If you have any contact info for him, please forward it to my email. Ill pass it on to the folks at Food Tv.

Thanks
