So does anyone know if there is a Sri Lankan restaurant in San Francisco? Or anything that comes close?

  1. There are none but you can get pretty close with South Indian Restaurants. They have iddly, Uppum etc although they dont seem to have stringhoppers. If you do a search on Chowhound I think you will find quite a few including a famous one in Santa Clara.

Please report back if you have a chance to try it. We have no first hand reports on Asian Rose or any other Sri Lankan restaurants.

In case anyone else was wondering what stringhoppers might be, here's a link to a post on the General Topics board with a description.
