I was thinking of checking out Juniper Cafe in Tribeca for dinner tomorrow, but when I called the line was disconnected. Has it closed? If it has, any good suggestions nearby?

No suggestions as I don't really know the neighborhood dinner scene well enough yet, but yes, Juniper Cafe does seem to be closed. They've had a sign up for over a month now saying something like "closed for renovations--see you soon" but when I walked past sometime last week there was an eviction notice taped to the door.

Had the same experience with Juniper last week. Such a shame. They had a good thing.

I ended up at Le Zinc and had a pretty decent meal. I had a moroccan hanger steak with ratatouille and couscous. The duck leg app is decent but mainly b/c the hoison/bbq sauce rocks. It seems like they have raised their prices a bit since I was there last...which was over one year ago.
