I've only sampled a few things at this point so this may be the first in a series... - bacon, cheddar, apple on grilled pumpernickel, was very good, not special though and had more apple than bacon, definitely not a plus. Wouldn't necessarily have it again, the cheddar and bacon were not assertive enough so I felt I was eating a warm apple sandwich pretty much - braised beef grilled sandwich was stringy and tough, a definite disappointment, not very flavorful and it seems a shame to waste all the braising liquid and not provide it as a sauce on the side of this sandwich - grilled pork loin with coppa, pickled pepper relish is fantastic, I'm actually eating it as I type. Great unexpected melding of flavors, one minute there's the great pork taste, the next a flash of hot pepper than the acidity of the pickling spices and vinegar, all surrounded by the delightfully crunchy bread. This is my favorite so far. I also had one of the penutbutter 'wich cookies (peanut butter sandwiched between two peanut butter cookies) this was fantastic with the cookies having a very sandy texture like the French sablés. I 'd love to see them offer both smooth and cream choices for the peanut butter The cashiers are great but the people who make the sandwiches don't quite have their routine down yet so you may wait longer than you'd expect. Overall though, it definitely has the building bolcks to be the best sandwich place in town. I figure I'll keep trying the place until I've had everything at least once. It really was fresh and light while the bread was perfectly crunchy and it all came together perfectly. It's my favorite tuna sandwich in town. It was exactly the thing I ate every saturday when I was growing up, without the fennel. Also at 5 bucks a pop the egg sandwiches make a pretty nice breakfast. I definitely agree about the peanut butter cookie being my new favorite treat. Luckily their price prohibits overconsumption for me.
