i am looking for suggestions for eateries near the museo del barrio, which is on 5th ave and 104 St.

any ethnicity is fine, and i'm not looking for fancy dining experiences either.
good, solid grub for an epicurean.

thank you!

I take the liberty to suggest a place I haven't tried, but I know it's a neighborhood landmark. Walk from el museo to 106 St. then go east past Madison, Park, and Lex. Almost on the corner of Third Ave, on the north side of 106, there's a Puerto Rican food restaurant. Very tiny. Sorry I don't know the name.
Of course there are a lot of Mexican restaurants around. Hopefully some better informed chowhound will come to your aid.
