we ended up going to a touristy spot on the wharf--very mediocre(Lou's). heavily battered, but tender. so greasy i feel sick. I wish I had gone to Indian Oven, but I am going there ASAP. thanks for the heads up!

I actually had the fried calamari at Cha Cha Cha on Haight Street and it was mighty tasty. Light and perfectly fried.

My only complaint would be that it came with a rather mediocre aioli that tasted more of mayonnaise than aioli. They have so many creative spices, I'm surprised nothing else fell in the aioli.

      2. I had a great grilled Calamari salad at Galette a couple weeks ago. They were cooked perfectly, which is hard to do, and they tasted great.
The dressing and the lettuces complimented the calamari very well. I thought it was excellent, and much better than most of the fried calamari I have had in the past.
