Day #1, update-
No, my friend got food poisoning.
No, I only eat Oysters in months ending with "R".
No, the oysters are sexy now and taste crappy.
No, we're too busy with the Limsterfest
No (my wife), I don't like oysters and there are things like laundry, vacuuming and housecleaning instead of bakeries, raw seafood and triple creams.

I started this in Chowhound and I'm heading to the Chowpound.

This will NOT look good on my resume. I might have to pull a Gilda Radner (for you "older" chowhounds) and say, "never mind-my bad!"

Let's see what Day #2 brings, because I'm really into self-shucking seashells down by the seashore with Chablis, Champagne and Chardonnay and my Chowhound chums.- Cheers.

Bob,

You have described one of the favorite ways my wife and I like to spend a weekend when we feel like taking a drive and eating great food. We were out there a couple of months ago and unfortunately Hog Island Oyster Co. was closed due to rain. We ended up going to another place down the road and were severely disappointed in the quality of oyster we got there.

If we get some kind of definitive answer on this "R" month thing, we would definitely be interested in taking an outing like this.

Rick

P.S. I'll bring my oyster knife as well.
