lobster special
Last summer there was an article in Time Out about how to live richly in NY on a tight budget (or something to that effect). They mentioned a restaurant that had an insane lobster special (like, $10 for the first lobster and 7 for each additional one? all week or was it just tuesdays??) that I wanted to check out, but of course, lost the details for. For some reason I feel like it was on the upper east side and was a bar-like restaurant. Does anyone know where I'm talking about or have other suggestions for good cheap lobster (or seafood in gerneral).

Joshua Tree on 34th and 3rd has Monday night lobster special. I believe the first 1 1/4 lobster is 12.95, the second is $6. Comes with corn on the cob and a baked potato.

if you can catch one, the Dakota Road House in Tribecca has $1 Lobsters in the machine...

You're thinking of Mo's Carribean. I can't remember the exact deal, but it's pretty close to what you said. As I recall, it's cash only.
