I am continuing in my quest to make practice wedding cakes, and although I have a recipe for rolled fondant, I would much prefer to buy. Any suggestions of sources in Manhattan?

Thanks.

Hey Caitlin -- Try calling NY Cake & Baking Distributors at 212.675-2253. I was in there the other day (56 West 22nd) but didn't check out the fondant section. I can't imagine that they wouldn't carry it though.

Boy that place is lucky that they don't have any competition directly in Manhattan for what they sell - because they are so rude and unfriendly - has anyone else had that experience at the NY Cake place (the one on W22nd street)?????

Actually they do have an amazing selection too - but I avoid going there unless absolutely desperate.

Plus you can order stuff on the web too go to one of the bakng sites and look for links.

I have to go back and search for a cool link I found to one of the companies that does edible printing for cakes and cookies (yes I know a printer does it - but it's nice to be able to use the service once in a while without the huge investment).

If anyone knows a site that processes your photo onto edible transfers for cakes and or cookies.

I especially would like to do cookies, which I imagine is just smaller images printed in multiples on a sheet and then cut.
