Every once in a while Ill wander over to pick up a piece of very good walnut baklawa from the corner store, Rutilys Market, on Gough and Filbert in SF. Not as sweet or syrupy as some others, the firmer style of the flaky pastry suits me.
Today I looked at the packing tray to find out that this is baked by Shatila in Michigan. A search on Chowhound turned up the thread below and a corporate website for Shatila, www.shatila.com that shows several other products. Im interested in trying the other pastries, but my local market only carries the baklawa. Any other local outlets selling the other sweets on an individual piece basis?
