theater district dinner

This is so embarrassing...lived in NY all my life...
moved to San Francisco a year ago. Will be in NY soon
and have theater tickets. We need a restaurant for pre-theater dinner. Can't think of any off hand that aren't touristy and mediocre. Can't walk too far so location is important. Appreciate any advice.

The $42 prix fix at District (Muse Hotel) on 46th between 6th and 7th is a winner. The menu is on the internet. We had 4 different entrees and each was very good to excellent.

I wholeheartedly second the vote. I had the pre-fixe dinner a few months ago and posted a report of the food. It was very good.

I swear I posted this already so apologies if I screwed up but I've been dying to go to Dervish, the upscale Turkish restaurant. Their 20 dollar price fix sounds like a really good value especially compared to District's prices(which I hear have gone up significantly as of late to make up for the lack of business and try and snag some tourists with cash)

        Enjoy,
        Frank

May I suggest Daniel Boulud's latest restaurant DB Bistro Moderne. It's located at 44th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues.
