Good for Groups?

I'm going to be getting together with about 20 friends next Saturday night. Does anyone have any recommendations for places that can handle that many people. We're open to any cuisine, anywhere in Manhattan. Initially, we're thinking either Carmine's or Virgil's. Thanks.

I am not sure if it would be too late to reserve the table, but I had the best time with a group that size at the communal table at Asia de Cuba. The menu is best for sharing, and we put ourselves in the hands of a capable waiter to bring us all the bests apps, mains and desserts. There was plenty of food, great drinks and a fun atmosphere.

Why not do a multi-coursed Chinese banquet. Just call ahead and I'm sure you could do it for about 30 bucks a person at a nice place like Yangtze on the Hudson or a larger place in Chinatown no problem and everyone will get to sample a multitude of different items.

I went to dinner with a group of 7 to Carmine's last month and had a wonderful time. The food was good and surprisingly affordable! For the 7 of us, including drinks and wine it came to about $230. Was somewhat noisy, but that just is a statement of its popularity!
