<content>Phew! Rain at long last. To some of you it's an inconvenience, but to a grassland cheesemaker, the rain means more grass, and more and better milk. Today's vat was deeper, yellower, and, when we warmed the whey and stirred the curd, the dairy smelled like a fresh-cut lawn....When the cheeses with May 25 production dates are released, they will remember the moment of their birth.

After cheesemaking, I delivered Artisanal Ricotta, Young Barat and Ouray to Citarella and Vintage New York (Wooster &amp; Broome). Give them a day to get it on the shelves...but Monday there's a few photos and a blurb in a Very Important Magazine, so it might go fast.

yours,

Jonathan

<content>Jonathan--as we discussed last night via email (and you totally agreed), we're very glad to have you as a long-time participant in these boards who's discussed a host of issues (cheese-related and not) on a "civilian" basis. And a number of us have specifically asked you to post a "heads up" when your cheese was shipped (because your present operation's a "start-up" and it's hard to get info via regular channels). But while our rules welcome food-biz people to talk to us about their business in a non-hypey way, with full disclosure of who they are (and they also allow the use of a footer link to a poster's web site), this latest is (as some users have pointed out) close to the hype line. Thanks for the info, but please spare the sales pitch!

If users have issues about specific postings or about our rules (or any other site-related matter), please post to the Site Talk board. Conversation on these boards is sometimes interrupted for official reasons, but if chow talk is continually disrupted by users with protocal issues, the result will be cumbersome and chaotic.

Obviously, replies to this belong on Site Talk as well. Please help us keep discussion on-track and organized.
