I heard that the Carniege Deli does so much cash business in one day, that they have an IRS agent in the deli at all times?
I'm not sure where I picked this up but I was curious if anyone else ever heard if it?

Sounds like an urban legend.

About twenty years ago, I heard that Tavern on the Green and the Carnegie Deli were the two highest-grossing restaurants in the city. Is there any non-fast-food restaurant in the city that does more turns in a 24-hour period?

The word I heard was that Carniege does about 100k CASH daily. I think based on the size, average meal price and ability to turn huge volumes of customer, that number may make sense?
