Any suggestions for good, informal moderately priced food near the UN? My dining companion is not the most adventurous of eaters...but most any cuisine should be acceptable.

Zagats (excuse me) used to have a blurb about the Baby Eels here. I tried them (appetizer). They were ok. As I recall, the garlic and oil in which they were sauteed was dominant.

I went there about 6 months ago and I thought that the tapas at Marichu were decent. Nothing special (didn't try the eel). However, there was a squid in black ink sauce that was stellar. I remember the dessert to be pretty good too. I think entrees run around the $19-$22 range.

Marichu is on 46th between 1st and 2nd. I went to Marichu once for lunch just a few weeks ago and it was delicious.
