Chinese drag restaurant
The place is called Lucky Cheng's at 24 First Ave. (bet. 1st & 2nd Sts.).
I haven't been yet, but I have a co-worker who tells me that she usually takes out of towners there. Next door is their second restaurant -- theme is S & M.
My co-worker says to not expect a gourmand, and certainly not a chowhound experience, however, it's a pretty fun place to go with a group.
I'd be interested to hearing other opinions as well. Also, book ahead, downstairs there is a bar area so you don't even necessarily have to have a meal there but can stay for the shows.
Yeah, that's exactly right. Go for the show, but don't eat there. Ugh. There's better/cheaper food in the neighborhood.
Downstairs is the bar area and all the way in back they have nightly shows. You don't have to reserve ahead of time to just go on back. I forget the times but call and I'm sure they'll tell you. Oh and beware of all the bachelor/bachelorette parties.
