I work on 58th off of 6th avenue and am trying to find a place to where i can sit down and get a cheap lunch in the area-- under $5. Im looking for something healthier than fast food or pizza. Can anyone help?

A $5 lunch is difficult to find in this area but I like Great American Health Bar at 35 W. 57 Street (bet. 5th & 6th Ave.) For $4.25 you can get a delicious large bowl of fresh vegetable soup (and other soups) with a thick slice of whole grain bread. For a little more, you can get a soup/salad combo. Mangia at 50 W. 57 St. has a nice salad bar with tables but the tab can add up if you pile up your plate. There's also Korean salad bars on both 55 & 56 St. (bet. 5 & 6) that have tables.
