Anyone remember Mata Hari?

Does anyone remember Mata Hari? It was a French place on the corner of Wooster and Broome, and it lasted about three days. I went there right after it opened, and the decor was as beautiful, and the service as awful, as any place I've ever been. The food, by the way, was pretty good. Anyone have any reminiscences to share?

When was Mata Hari's around? We missed that one!

One of my favorite NYC place was Mary Elizabeth's, near B. Altman, which was a huge sandwich counter-in-the-round. All M.E.'s served were sandwiches; egg salad, cheddar cheese, tuna, and they were perfect. There were always 2 or 3 woman with hairnets working furiously in the middle, and 10 people, mostly businessmen, jockeying for a stool. The place must've closed in the 70's. I also miss Chock full o' Nuts' date-nut-bread and cream cheese sandwiches, Charleston Gardens' parfaits and the ladies with their white gloves...
