New Pasteur -- mixed experience

I am on jury duty, and had lunch at New Pasteur on Baxter today. The plate of grilled pork chop, shredded pig skin, and crab omelet, on rice was pretty good. The chops were very tasty and well carmelized, the skin was really peppery, though the crab omelet tasted disconcertlingly like lukewarm gefilte fish. (Is this what one gets for eating treyf during the yomim nora'im?)
The Cha Gio, on the other hand, were a crashing disappointment. They were made with chinese spring roll skins rather than rice paper, which gives it its unique texture. Also, the filling, what little there is , was undistinguished. What gives?
