Brasserie 8 1/2
Well, I can answer my own post now. Very pretty restaurant, very empty - we were early - 6pm, but it didn't fill up too much. Service good, although as one reviewer pointed out, the servers cannot reach into the banquette, so you have to pass along the dishes. The menu is small, mainly steaks, and a "dish of the day" page. We both had the rack of lamb special, served on assorted summer beans - which was perfectly cooked and delicious, but very small. Fortunately we had ordered sides - roquefort mashed potato ( wonderful) and asparagus. For desert shared the banana split - a very strange presentation, perhaps the only disappointment. So, all in all, a good meal. I thought expensive - $150 for two people before tip. Glad I went, at that price though, would go somewhere else in the future.
