The Chronicle reported a tentative Feb 28 opening date-has anyone heard if this came to pass?

  1. A friend of mine went to an opening there last week. His report was that it was really crowded and there was hardly any food. But so far, that's all I've heard about it.

    1. Just wanted to thank folks on this board for this great resource. Sorry for the lack of detail here, I only remember the experience well enough to offer a rough impression.

Went there Sat night and it was my first time in Jack's. The space has great brasserie charm and character. Service was well done and well informed. Prices were about $20 average for entrees and $8-12 for salads, first courses. We ordered salads for the first course and they were simple and fine. The main courses ordered were sturgeon, rabbit with sweetbreads and ossobucco with morels. I tried the sturgeon and rabbit and both dishes were ok but not inspired craft. I expected more considering the price range.

      All the best,

      1. We were at Bistro Jeanty's on Friday (fantastic as usual!)and we picked up the business card for Jeanty@Jack's. Address is: 615 Sacramento Street (at Montgomery, I believe) and phone number is: 415-693-0941. They opened last week. Can't wait to try it.
