uncomplicated italian

HELP! Two good friends of mine are coming to NY to get married (they want to avoid the hassle of a big wedding), and they asked me to make reservations for their celebratory dinner at a good Italian restaurant. The problem is that they both have REALLY unsophisticated tastes, so a place like Babbo is out of the question. Does anyone know of a non-tacky restaurant that is serves good but relatively simple Italian fare?

  1. It's not really fancy, but I love Becco on West 46th St. The food is simple and good, and the prices quite reasonable for NY.

Another option might be Trattoria Dell'Arte on 7th Ave and 56th. Again, it's fairly traditional food and your friends might enjoy the extensive antipasti. I was there last week with clients and everyone left happy.

    1. i personally reccomend Bice on 54th. Its straight forward Italian and its a great place for a celebration
