Had an amazing roast pork burrito today, one of the best lunches I've had in new york this summer. My standards for Mexican food are pretty high; under normal circumstances I wouldn't touch a place with this kind of name with a ten foot pole, but the glowing review hung outside and mob inside (including Mexican customers) drew me in.

The pork was tender and flavorful, tortilla nicely grilled (not limply steamed) and portions generous. The tacos looked similary great and were filled to capacity.

I will be back soon to eat my way through the menu.

The name is: Great Burrito and Italian Pizza!

I am in no way endorsing the pizza, I didn't try it, though it looked standard.

    2. I think that's 6th Avenue, not 5th.

Right by where I work, but I've never even thought of going in there! I will, though...

It's just west of 6th on SW side. It's good, looks like crappy generic pizza place, but run by Mexicans.
        Pizza didn't look good.

thanks to the original poster - I would never have tried this place otherwise. Im no expert on mexican food, but my $2 taco el pastor today was head and shoulders above the product of the other "mexican" places near the 23rd street corridor (Fresco Tortilla, Burritoville, etc). The guys speak minimal english and I guess they haven't learned how to screw things up yet.
