Doughnut Plant doughnuts

I saw these doughnuts being made on Emeril Live about a month ago. They look to be the best donughts I've ever seen. Has anyone tried them and do you recommend them? I'm in Boston but visiting NY the end of August. I think I'm going to get up early to head to here unless someone tells me otherwise.

  1. If you search the site from the homepage you should find some previously-posted opinions (which vary) on these doughnuts.

    I'm a doughnut fan, but only had them once -- too big and heavy for my taste. Also, they cost about 2 bucks.

        Now, try searching for "tips for newcomers" -- you'll find a really useful posting from Rachel Perlow. Her method of using two windows for Hot Posts makes it very easy to become addicted to this site.

        Be sure to let us know if you try the doughnuts.

    2. I saw these on Emeril's show too and recently had a chance to try them. I would not say that they are good or bad, just different. They are chewier than the average doughnut and are baked much darker, which gives them a distinctive caramelly note. The one I had with a gooey topping was better than the plain glazed one. On the whole, I prefer Krispy Kreme (when fresh).
