Roy's New York

Anyone eaten recently at Roy's New York ( downtown in the Marriott Financial Center Hotel)? I have reservations for Sunday night and would like the scoop on its ambiance and cuisine. Have heard that after a rocky start the restaurant is back up to the lofty standards of its Maui and Big Island counterparts. Is this true?

  1. I was there at its rocky start and the dishes themselves were somewhat average, and the preparation was worse.

    Forgot exactly what we had, but the flavors were muddy. My date's veal was way way too salty and had to be sent back. Instant hypertension.

    They had a creme brulee trio -plain and two fruit flavors -the fruit flavors were way way way too sweet.

    It just seemed like the parent corp's entree into fusion... and the parent corp is Marriot, I think.

    Let me know if you had a better experience.
