Calling all tips for... PO

Howdy y'all--
I am going to Po, on Cornelia St., with 3 girlfriends on May 31st. One of them has been a few times.
Any and all tips would be appreciated.
I can't wait!
P.S. I did a search for Po on this board but it came up with zilch, zero, nada. Hmmmm.

        To second Greg, the tasting menu's an astonishing deal. Bizarrely cheap, and very good.

          Just had dinner there on vacation a few weeks ago and woke up in the middle of the night saying Mario Batali's name over and over again.
          The white bean puree ravioli with brown butter sauce is not to be missed. My husband loved his chorizo stuffed pork chop. I'm a gelato nut, so I finished off with Ciao Bella gelato with berries, just lite enough for desert. You will love this food!

    2. I have dined there twice, and both times have been a pleasure. Some may say to do the tasting menu, but I have heard only do that when Mario is definately there.
      The complimentary bruschetta is wonderful. Don't let them rush you. It's a tiny place, but sit back and enjoy your meal.

        The rush can be a problem. When I went, the person I was meeting was 15 minutes late; they were very accomodating about that (even though they were turning walk-ins away at 5:30) but moved us along at a brisk pace once inside -- our desserts came with the check.

        Admittedly, with a tasting menu we were there for 2 hours at $35 a plate. I can understand them needing to get as many seatings in as possible.
