Corned beef today, hash tomorrow

I just had a not-satisfying corned beef/boiled potato/cabbage lunch here in Morningside Heights. The meat was pre-sliced, which I'm not used to except for sandwiches, and sliced by machine.
Is there anywhere I can go tonight for something a little tastier (my friend also noted that the meat didn't taste meaty--perhaps the supplier injects it with water?).
And where do chowhounds think there will be good corned beef hash tomorrow?
