bleeker st. (6th-7th ave so. area) sunday early dinner

please advise on most decent italian or other in bleeker st. area between 6th and 7th ave south. am considering bel villagio, vittorio, osteria fiorenina, and trat. pasta pesce. want this specific area. walking distance from theatre. also best cafe pastry/espresso in same area. thanks.

You could try Mona Lisa, on Bleecker near 7th Ave. (near John's Pizza), for dessert. They have pretty good sweet things and coffee.

Bel Villagio is nice, but a lot of people swear by Trattoria Spaghetto on that street. there was a thread about these places recently -- look back to December's postings.

I think all the pastry places on bleecker are a little overrated.

Don't forget Cornelia St. (Home, Le Gigot, Po, Cornelia St. Cafe, Pearl Oyster Bar)
