The "old" Russian Tea Room, black bread with or w/o raisins...

I lived in Manhattan for about 15 years, about 15 years
ago... amongst the warm & fuzzy food memories I have I
reacall the black bread (or round rolls) from the old
Russian Tea Room. Does anyone have a bread recipe for
that is as rich as their black bread with raisins?
