Finally made it over to Ave. C and 9th Street, to try Esperanto.
The meal was good, but two things really wowed me. The vegetable empanadas had the tenderest dough imaginable, just a tiny bit of filling and a great vinegary sauce. But most of all, the fried yucca was incredible - so much crisper and lighter than usual, and slathered with garlic and parsley. YUM.
