I am looking for a restaurant which serves traditional Sicialian food-- pasta con sarde, caponata, pasta alla norma. Too many Italian restaurants claim to be Sicilian but are really just red sauce joints. Any help. My wife is Sicilian and she does not even know.

  1. Baci, in the West 70s, serves Pasta con Sarde. I don't recall the other dishes, but you could call and check.

It's not in Manhattan, but it's close. In Carroll Gardens, there's a place called Ferdinando's Focacceria. It's been around since the early 1900s and serves authentic Sicilian dishes. Tripe and other specialties. Kind of a dive and cheap.
