Tasty lammajun in Murray Hill

This place was written up somewhere recently, so I checked it out and give it a thumbs-up for tastiness: Ali Baba on E. 34th St., just east of Third Avenue.

Ali Baba looks like a standard-issue pizza place, but in fact they are Turkish and have some Turkish specialties as well.

The only think we tried was the lammajun. Succulent, thin fresh bread, ground lamb and herbs, served on a plate with thick slices of onion powdered with ground sumac, coriander leaves and wedges of lemon. We rolled the onion and coriander into the lammajun, squeezed lemon juice on it, and ate. Delicious, 2 bucks a pop. We ordered a second round and the staff got notably more friendly.

I've never really paid attention to lammajun before, but my (Armenian) friend was suitably impressed.
